For this project my main responsibilities were the creation of two race tracks and making color variations for two car types.
Both tracks were designed using lofting in 3DS Max, after approval of the layout I would refine the track to remove any irregularities and generate a very simple collision mesh based on the race track. Since lofting generally creates very clean UVs it was very easy to use a vertically tiling texture to generate the track. Since the game was made in Flash 3D and was targetted for low end spec PCs the lighting information was baked and blended onto the tracks using a second UV set.
All the props were pre made, just as the track textures.
